When a wealthy Texan heiress goes missing in the city of lights, everyone has an opinion as to what’s happened. Theories range anywhere from a clandestine romance to simply getting away from busybody relatives, but the more Charlie James investigates, she more she finds that this case isn’t as clean cut as the Parisian police insists it is.
Author Kristy Manning is back again with the an addition to her Charlie James Mystery series in the story, Maisy Bell is Missing. The mystery itself wasn’t very compelling and didn’t give much to chew on, but it did do a good attempt at foreshadowing with the play. The ending wrapped up the story well enough with a somewhat bittersweet conclusion to the mystery and it left me wishing that there was more to care about whilst reading it.
This is a read for those who enjoy a light mystery with a dash of 30s Parisian glamour, and definitely wait until there are a few more additions to the series to binge read.
